Our school's mission is to provide students with the "roots to grow" and "wings to fly." As a school, we believe that students must connect their learning with the world outside the classroom. Incorporating Scholastic News as part of our middle school's programming will help us fulfill our mission and set our students up to be aware of the world in which they are growing and will one day lead.
The plan for our Scholastic News programming will take place in the mornings as part of our "CREW" activities.
During CREW students connect with their classmates and teachers in order to get ready for the day, build community, and tackle the tough business of navigating the teenage years. CREW is also a space where students are able to foster good study habits and a love for learning. The Scholastic News programming will allow kids to develop a routine around independent reading and a greater worldview.
