RAZ'd Up for Recording Fun!

My students need 6 headsets that record their running records on our computer RAZ Kids software.

My Students

Our Title I grant is providing a wonderful software program called RAZ Kids. However, we are not able to use one major feature of the software due to not having headsets that can record a student's running records. These Logitech headphones will allow my students to record themselves reading!

My kindergarten students are 5 and 6 years old with a craving to learn.

Most come from lower income families and have diverse backgrounds. Some students are learning English for the first time. Each student is eager to be a reader and love to have books read to them on a daily basis.

My Project

Running records provide an immediate feedback on how a student is performing at a certain reading level. Once I have this information, I can make the needed adjustments for a student to succeed as a reader. If a reading level is too easy, I can move the reader in the RAZ Kids software to the next level. If the reading level is too frustrating, I can move the level down. This ensures that my students are growing as readers at a steady pace to meet the high demands of our kindergarten goals.

Today's kindergarten is not the same as it was years ago.

A kindergarten student is expected to be a reader by the end of the year. Your support of this project will help ensure that my students can use our new software program to its fullest extent. This will provide the necessary information I need as their teacher to make sure they are becoming strong readers.
