What I love about my students is that they are all unique in their own special way! They respond well to technology rather than just worksheets.
We are coming into 21st-century teaching and need more materials to accommodate!
They are really bright students with a love for learning. I look forward to seeing them every day! I would like to get the new tools to help them get in the learning mode and succeed with their future.
Any help is always appreciated! Thanks!
My Project
It's time for another classroom transformation! We are transforming our second grade classroom into a dinosaur safari. Science and Social Studies are popular subjects in my class and I do believe it might have to do with how hands-on and engaging these subjects can be. They are conducive to hands-on collaborative projects. My students love working together and creating their projects to demonstrate their learning in Science and Social Studies. Students will become dinosaur experts, reading books about dinosaurs and "being paleontologists for the day." The vines and dinosaur props will be used to help create the time period of the dinosaurs as the students rotate around the room completing tasks. These tasks will include measuring dinosaurs using inches and centimeters, creating a zoo enclosure for the dinosaurs, completing math problems that involve dinosaur facts, and researching dinosaur information.
Students will also complete an assignment about a dinosaur they want to study.
They will be able to use the Fossil Dinosaur Eggs to learn how paleontologists discover fossils and dig them up. The Dinosaur books will allow my students to have resource texts that they can refer to when they are learning about dinosaurs.
