My students need 25 copies of "The Invention of Hugo Cabret" to continue our journey into the world of reading!
FULLY FUNDED! Ms. H.'s classroom raised $594
This project is fully funded
My Students
My class had a wonderful time reading "Tuck Everlasting" with students all over the world, and we don't want the fun to end! Copies of this book will allow us to continue reading, learning, and expanding our minds, along with our vocabulary!
We are a small public school in Delaware.
My students are 5th graders of diverse races, religions, and nationalities. Yet, they all share the appreciation of a good book! They have become aware that their thoughts matter, and they are willing to share them with an audience. My students have discovered that a good story can take them into a world they could not imagine, and they are reading to dive into another one,"Hugo", headfirst!
My Project
Copies of "Hugo" will, first and foremost, provide my students with a copy all their own. They respect books, and enjoy the luxury of carrying the books between home and school.
It will allow my students a chance to sink their teeth into a good story, and then to share that experience through discussions(literature circles), share on their blogs, book projects, letters with their pen pals, I can go on and on.
They will continue to embrace the joy of reading, the different strategies that enable a good reader, how another person's story can connect to their lives, and most of all, how valuable their viewpoint is.
Donations to this request will make a difference in the lives of those students who do not have a single book in their home.
This will be a book they can share with their siblings or parents. They can read it again and again!
Who knows what the future holds for my students who read this book? A famous author, writer, or publisher may be sitting in my classroom right now, and this book is the spark that lights their fire! You provide the match and i will do the rest!:)
This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
