This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

The Rincon Ranger store is running low on rewards for students who meet their academic, behavioral, & attendance goals. Often with the students on my caseload, we are making tiny goals so the students start to feel some accomplishment and success. I like to provide them with a small reward of candy, snacks, fidget toys, and school supplies to get their motivation going.

These wins allow us to build up to larger goals, while students gain confidence in their abilities along the way.

The students have spoken: they want more SNACKS! We have expanded our PBIS Ranger Rewards store, complete with a schedule of operating hours before school, during lunch, and after school. The students love turning in their Ranger Reward cards for chips, toys, and supplies that help them get through the long day. Each student that turns in a Ranger ticket gets put into a monthly raffle for new wireless headphones (something the students love and use daily). This project would help us restock the store as we raffled our last pair out this week.

Thank you for helping us to continue to motivate our students through PBIS rewards. Our students are truly responding to our program and have shown growth on their district assessments, increasing passing benchmark scores by 7%. We know that many things contribute to this growth but our Fun Fridays, PBIS store, and Ranger Rewards are a large part of it. Thank you for your continued support to fund our Rincon positive behavior system.
