My Students

We are a free public charter school that serves children who live in a district that is classified as low income, with all children receiving free breakfast and lunch. The background of students in this school is widely varied. Students look forward to working with technology each day!

We are consistently working to improve educational opportunities and variety of experiences each year!

Our smaller environment helps many students to thrive. Many of their experiences this year were brand new to them, and we want to continue to grow the program!

My Project

When we are finishing our classes and wrapping up, students are cleaning up and pushing their chairs in. Because I am teaching technology, we have many chairs at the computers and tables. Students are trying to talk to the group about what challenged or changed for them that day and it is difficult to hear through the scraping of the chairs. Instead of requiring absolute stillness, which would be unfair, I would like to put tennis balls on each chair to quiet them.

While working on projects, the students need paper, scissors, markers, and other basic supplies to work with.

Also, visuals about stem and technology are included in this purchase to brighten their world and give them educational posters to view when they need to find ideas and information. Finally, items such as the small white boards, plastic totes, and buzzers will help them in their small group activities.
