This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I have a group of students with a heart for children with disabilities.
As the students began planning their service projects, promoting student wellness regardless of their challenges, was a common thread.
Fortunately, we have a wonderful partnership with a pediatric physical therapy clinic that is never short of client needs. The students have a service project of building a ramp for a student to use at home. This will allow the student to access her home independently! The students will design the ramp in Tinkercad. Once the ramp is digitally designed the pieces will be cut out from Glowforge wood on a Glowforge Laser Cutter. The students will assemble the pieces into a ramp. The best part is the students get to use power tools which is their favorite ~ ha!
