My students need books! They love to read and have so many special requests, it is hard to keep up. This is a just a smattering of the books they've asked for in the past year.
Our school is a unique K-8 nestled in a bustling college town. We focus on science, technology and engineering through project-based learning during the school day.
In the past 3 years, our student population has grown from 175 to over 600.
My students are rabid readers. They devour books and come back asking for more every week! Truly, the increase in circulation statistics this year has been monumental. We love to support them on this path so they never stop reading!
My Project
Got a reluctant reader? Find what they love and put it into their hands, and suddenly they are thinking about reading and the library in a whole new light.
I know that my students will read more if I purchase books they have specifically requested.
My students request books all the time. Every week, I'm asked if I have the lastest Riordan or the final two books in the Crown Selection series. They write them on paper, they submit them to me digitally, they leave me notes on stickies or just ask me in person. They love to read and always want more!
I want to fulfill all of my student requests all of the time. Realistically, I endeavor to do that most of the time. This grant goes a long way to filling my students' hands with books. Thank you for helping make their wishes a reality!
