This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students come from diverse backgrounds. Many of my students come prepared for school while some of my students unfortunately are not equipped and ready to learn. The nice thing that we have going for our students is the provision of educational necessities.

My students love doing hands-on learning and we can get by with the equipment we have; however, it would be ideal if my students had their own lab stations furnished so that more inquiry-based lab experiments can be planned—which are currently limited by the equipment that we are short on.

My Project

During chemistry, students could use any sort of container to hold samples of substances. Cups will work; even plastic trays. However, having pyrex glassware will solve many issues as they are durable and reusable. Additionally, this makes any experiments that require the heating of substances less of a headache.

Without enough pyrex glassware, it is difficult to perform experiments that require heating substances.

Many students love the excitement that comes with heating substances, but without pyrex beakers it becomes a safety issue. My students would benefit from this project because they will be able to perform more hands-on experiments that reinforce concepts reviewed during lessons.
