My Students

5th grade is going to be amazing this year! My students are excited about the new year in a new flexible community environment. We will start off the year with 30-32 stellar students who are ready to learn and explore new things, find their voices, and enhance their community experience in the classroom.

A student-centered community environment, creating the best atmosphere for community voice and participation, and providing the right tools is key.

The students in my class are amazed at the great opportunity they will have this year in my Disney-themed classroom, to have a student-centered learning experience, with a lot of hands-on activities, being part of and understanding of a functioning community. With my style of teaching, I try very hard to help the students work through ideas and strategies outside of just textbooks and worksheets. This focus on the students helps engage them to have fun while learning new things.

So, hats off to my new class! It's going to be an adventurous learning year filled with lots of teaching moments with life connections in all subjects. Did I mention they are amazing? Thought so!

My Project

Living in an amazing state like Utah, our students end up having more indoor recesses than we would want to have. They love to be outside. Coming up with some indoor activities would be a welcomed plus to our drizzly day.

Rainy or snowy indoor recess days = indoor games and activities to give my students a much-needed break in their day.

Looking forward to these hands-on games and activities to help get the wiggles out on such gloomy days. Thank you in advance for donating to our indoor recess activities.
