This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Some of my students do not even have crayons or basic art materials at home. When they come to art class, it means the world to them to be able to use oil pastels, paint, clay, and other art materials. Please help me bring my students the world of color and rainforest toucans!
My students go to school in a high poverty, Title I school.
These students come from low socioeconomic families that often have trouble providing food and clothing to their children. Please help me bring art to my students. We need oil pastels and tempera paint to do an artwork of a rainforest toucan.
My Project
My students will use oil pastels and tempera paint in order to create a toucan. They will learn about blending and how to make something look realistic. Students will also learn how to create a background of tropical leaves. Students will learn to use overlapping to create a more realistic artwork. Thank you for helping provide some good art materials!!
This project will make a difference in the lives of my students because it will help them feel successful in school.
Most of my students struggle in other academic areas and being able to feel good and develop self-esteem is important. Art makes kids feel good and have fun and the same time. Thank you for helping me bring art to some wonderful kids!
