My Project

I am a first year teacher looking for ways to support the literacy of my students. I love my students so much - I believe that each one of them has the potential to become a powerful contributor to our society.

I believe that by having a bright, vibrant library and reading space in my classroom, students will be motivated to read independently and to enjoy it.

The items I've selected for this project include a rainbow rug, rainbow flexible seating, a rainbow lamp, and a book display case. These items will come together to create a comfortable environment where my students can read independently. I will be incorporating independent reading time in my classroom centers, and this space will help students become excited about reading on their own. Literacy is the key to unlocking the potential of our students. Teaching them to enjoy reading is one of my greatest goals as a teacher.
