This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students live in a vibrant community where major art forms were created and developed. They love to sing and dance and to play instruments. Students will often stop by my classroom or stop me in the hallway or in the cafeteria to ask what instrument they will get to play that day. My classroom is a place for children to explore and try out the different sounds in their world and the roles they can play in music making.
My Project
We were gifted a set of acoustic guitars but have nowhere to store them! I currently store the guitars in a closet and they are not easily accessible. If we had these racks, my students would be able to see the instruments and would have access to all of our guitars for our classroom jam sessions. The racks will help us keep our classroom organized and free from clutter. My students deserve a beautiful classroom to learn and grow in. I can’t wait to see all of students playing songs by the Beatles, Aretha Franklin, The Black Eyed Peas, Justin Beiber, and Selena!
