Race Cars and Robotics and Reading Are a Winning Combination!

My students need Anki Overdrive robotic cars and track kits, and race car books to capture their imaginations!

My Students

We are trying to overhaul our media center and update it to a "Learning Commons" with a makerspace at the center. Makerspaces are places where kids can design, build, code, create and "make" things! We need supplies that will allow our students the freedom to think outside the box to dream and to be inspired.

My students are amazing learners who love technology and the creativity that it allows!

They are trying to become future ready by studying not just reading, math, writing, science, and social studies, but also engineering, art, coding, robotics, website design, and more!

My Project

My students are awesome kids who love to spend time in the library exploring robotics and coding! Many of them are also reluctant readers who need an extra "hook" to grab them and pull them into selecting a great book.

Anki's Overdrive Starter Kit includes a specialized magnetic track that clicks together in dozens of different configurations. When coupled with Anki's robotic cars, the result is an intelligent battle racing system. The more the cars are driven, the more they learn and the better drivers they become!

When coupled with books on racing and race cars, my students will be drawn into reading, and I can help them find additional books that they will enjoy!
