My Students
For many of my students, kindergarten is their first experience in a school setting. Due to safety protocols, they will be spending a large portion of their day inside one classroom in an assigned space that is six feet away from other students.
This year school will look and feel very different, but my students deserve to have a safe and comfortable learning space that has engaging and fun materials.
Kindergartners are eager, full of energy, funny, and kind - and I love working with them every day. My students attend an incredible elementary school in Virginia where we value making connections and putting the needs of students first.
My Project
My students work very hard throughout the day! They need and deserve time outside to play and have fun with their friends, even while remaining distanced due to health and safety protocols. Having additional games and toys that can be easily disinfected will help students learn how to share and take turns, while improving their gross motor skills.
We currently have one soccer ball that is a class favorite, and the students have been asking me for more.
Sidewalk chalk is wonderful for drawing, but also for incorporating into math and literacy activities and to help students create borders and boundaries when they make up their own games. Kids love bubbles and having long wands helps students create huge bubbles, even from behind masked faces.
Please help these young students start their school experiences off in a safe, engaging, and fun environment.
