This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Nothing is more frustrating than finding that perfect image, finishing that report or project, or having the best class activity that is in full color on the computer and only being able to print it in black and white!
I teach a dynamic group of 5th graders who come to school each day to build a better future for themselves.
Over 90% of the students in our Title 1 school receive free or reduced lunch, and over 25% of them are English language learners. Our school strives to have a "No Excuses" attitude when it comes to preparing our students for successful futures. We utilize technology throughout instruction, and incorporate character education and college readiness in all we do. My students are destined for success, and I will do whatever it takes to prepare them for that!
My Project
I am constantly finding engaging activities, academic learning posters, and visuals for my students, but the only way I can print them for my classroom is to do it at home using my family's printer and ink. Repeatedly I have had students doing research in class and finding images they want to use for a poster or creating colorful, visually appealing reports and projects only to be disappointed when they print in the classroom to find it prints in black and white. I recently bought a new color printer for my classroom so we can add some color to our lives, but we need black and color ink!
Having color ink and being able to utilize our new color printer will enliven our classroom.
It will allow us to have more visually interesting activities, clearer visuals and pictures to use in our learning, and the ability for students to be more excited about their research finding and assignments they produce. Please help us bring some color to our classroom!
