This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My class is in need of a printer to help us print our stories and pictures. We are asking for a mono printer rather than a color printer, because we can use our own crayons and markers to bring color to our work!
I teach at a wonderful, multi-cultural, public school located in the San Fernando Valley.
We are a Title I school, and many of my students come from economically disadvantaged homes. My class includes students that are both English and non-English speakers, as well as, students with disabilities. All of my students are anxious and excited about learning and coming to school!
My Project
Towards the end of last school year, our classroom printer finally gave out. It had served our classroom well for 9 years! We are now seeking a replacement printer.
A new printer will change my students' lives for the better because we will be able to print copies of their work and materials for their lessons.
They can share these copies with their parents and families. They will be making stories using Microsoft Word, and illustrations using a software program called KidPix. Also, as their teacher, I will be able to print out worksheets, visuals and homework for the students. There is a wealth of resources to be found on-line, which can be printed out and used to make exciting lessons for the children.
We are also requesting some cleaning supplies. Liquid hand soap, dusters, and sanitizing wipes will help keep our classroom clean and sanitary as we start the new year.
By contributing to this project, your donation will go twice as far, because Quill is offering to match donations to projects such as this! You will be helping to provide a printer and cleaning supplies for my students. Having the ability to print their work will motivate my students to become writers! Thank you in advance for your help.
