Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Sometimes students finish their work fast and have some free time that they can use to read books or listen to music and audio books in Spanish to improve their language acquisition. Providing a safe space, a small corner where they can sit on the floor carpet or floor cushions can help them relax and enjoy their time reading and/or listening to music. Having bookshelves will help us start building our classroom library. Having fidgets will help students who just need a quick 5 minute break to release some stress.
This will give them a safe space and also improve their language acquisition through reading and listening.
By having a small library and headphones accessible for the students will help them enjoy their relaxed time on the carpet when they finish their assignments and/or during lunch as well. Also, relaxation can help with our mental health.
