This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I want to designate a quiet corner in the classroom to support students' emotional and mental well-being. This peaceful retreat will feature a ClosetMaid 9-Cube Organizer for storing mindfulness tools, coloring books, and calming aids neatly. Comfort is provided through items like a weighted lap blanket and visually soothing Boho Calming Corner Posters that offer relaxation techniques.
Students deserve to have a safe space within classrooms to go to calm their minds and recharge for the days activities.
The InnoCity Breathing Pal 'Ted' guides students through calming breathing exercises, while Dazzle Bright String Lights create a soft, welcoming glow. Zmcik Alcohol Markers and a variety of coloring books such as 'Cute & Groovy' and 'Cozy Friends' allow students to have a creative outlet to express and manage their feelings. This corner will serve as a sanctuary for students to find tranquility, learn emotional management skills, and reduce stress during the school day.
