This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Students need a quiet corner on days when they are overstimulated or have a migraine. The Quiet Corner in my class is designed just for them!
Often, a student will ask me if they can put their head down for these reasons, and I wish I had a quiet room to send them to.
Due to school construction, there are no extra rooms on campus. So I am creating a quiet corner with beanbags, weighted blanket, and noise cancelling headphones for them to retreat to.
As we become more aware of the needs of both our neurotypical and neurodivergent students, I am excited to provide this support to both of them.
