This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I've heard many times from students that their head hurts from not being able to have eaten something before school or that they can't focus because lunch is still a ways away. Unfortunately some students starve through lunch for various reasons/situations and even when students have brought a lunch from home it is needing to be warmed up.
I made a commitment to my students that their well-being is a top priority and would like to have resources to assist them in any way needed.
Giving the students an opportunity to fuel their bodies while at school is very important to me. I use "Lilo and Stitch dollars" as a currency in my class and the students may receive one from doing numerous things, an example would be making it into the top 3 during our rounds of Blooket review games. Students would then be able to use the currency to purchase a water bottle if they forgot theirs at home especially after playing P.E on a hot day.
