Questing For Knowledge Using Computers

This year, my class will be questing for knowledge. I am a second grade teacher at a public school in a high-need community. Our school consists primarily of students with low socio-economic backgrounds.

As with many other schools,we are battling ongoing disciplinary problems. One way our principal encourages us to manage these problems is through creative instruction. When kids are bored, behavior problems occur.

My ultimate goal is to use this computer to provide more meaningful, interesting, and exciting lessons in my classroom. Activities such as webquests will motivate students to search the Internet for more information on a particular topic we are studying. Hopefully, this project will counteract and eventually desist behavior problems.

With your help, high-risk students in a low performing school can achieve better scores, increase desired behavior, and have a high interest in learning.
