My Project
My students are fun, loving, hardworking, and technology lovers. They are 21st Century life-long learners. I love that they love learning. They are special because they are kind to each other. They understand the value of teamwork and show integrity on a daily basis. They are simply amazing!
According to Idaho Education News, "The oculus provides educators many new ways to motivate and engage their students and to assist those who may struggle in a traditional classroom- VR can be used to remove distractions and immerse students in the subject matter at hand- Even the most dispirited student can get the most out of their lessons."
Group work is extremely important and having the Oculus will allow collaborative learning, cooperative learning, problem-based learning and team-based learning.
This Meta Quest 2 will my students to explore as a small diffentiated group and will allow enhanced student engagement in our science classes. The Meta Quest 2 will be used during earth science lessons that connect to our Amplify Science lessons will that can offer my students a chance to experience learning and actively participate in the lesson with virtual reality as they experience our Solar System in a memorable and more impactful manner. They will use the VR to support or refute the weekly science claims, evidence, and reasoning task.
Lastly, having the Meta Quest 2 will not only help my students build interpersonal skills such as empathy, and social and collaboration skills but improve my student's understanding of complex and conceptual subjects.
