My Project

Aloha! Our class is part of an alternative learning program on Hawai'i Island. This class has named themselves "Na Koa O Hamakua" which translates to "The Koa Forest of Hamakua District" and/or "Warriors of Hamakua."

Our program is an alternative approach to education where the student is removed from our traditional four-wall classroom and immersed off-campus and learning culturally from our lands.

During the week, we meet on campus then drive off to different community partnerships in our area. Having solid water bottles during our trips doing services for our community partners would help keep us hydrated enough to push on!
