Quality of Life: Today's Decisions Impacts Your Time Tomorrow!

Help me give my students an opportunity to make decisions as we do everyday. Decision-making skills are used to improve a person’s quality of life by , enhanced and wiser choices resulting in better use of time.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

At-Home Learning through e-Classrooms and a Virtual Google Meets 90 mins each class ALL DAY has hit these young students, and I quite a bit differently than others dealing with COVID-19. As I approach the 2nd Semester of Distant Virtual @ Home Learning and Working at a G.L.O.B.A.L. school I need to provide these young developing minds with ALL resources they should have and are unfortunately still do not have full access with testing just around the corner.

My students are 99% English Language Learners and ALL receive Free lunch.

They took there exams in their 1st language and now everything is in English and they are struggling readers that are compassionate and caring. Just issuing each a personal copy of Hidden Figures from another project had their eyes illuminated with excitement.

They are remaining at home to ensure their safety and longevity of life while trying to be educated through this pandemic at a crucial year of life 7th-grade. The Summer Programs for the district offered so much for the students, yet there has been ZERO support at all for the materials to be available to the students at home and allow them to achieve same level of success.

My Project

As we make decisions everyday, our decision-making skills are used to improve; a our quality of life is enhanced and wiser choices result in better use of time, money, and other resources. This Project will assist me in providing my students with an opportunity to learn more about decision-making.

Lacking the awareness of the economic influences that can affect decision-making can result in a great financial cost over time.

Even though these economic factors include inflation, interest rates, and the unemployment rate the common risks associated with decision-making are often not considered. Students should be aware of these factors as well as, opportunity

cost—what a person gives up when a decision is made.

This all ties into my passion for the Greatest course NEVER offered in school - Financial Literacy.

This project will aid them with strategies for analyzing the results of decision-making. They will be able to utilize Real-World situations, such as, “Think back to when you are at the store with your parents, do you think that they used some of these decision making strategies for what to buy?”
