Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Have you ever wanted to learn to play the piano? Every day, I have students ask me if I will teach them. Sadly, our high poverty school has a $0 budget for the music program and no keyboard.
I serve 600 incredible children from Kindergarten through 8th grade in a high poverty school.
These wonderful students astound me daily with their innate flair for music and their natural curiosity. Their desire to expand their knowledge of music manifests daily with this question, "When can we learn piano?"
My Project
If our school received a keyboard with a stand, case, and learning materials, my students would have the opportunity to learn the fundamentals of playing the piano. They will be able to experience an incredible instrument and learn a new form of expression.
I am 100% sure that donations to this project would make a difference because I have so many students who ask me if they will ever get to play the piano.
I know that if these children had access to a keyboard, they would work hard and delight in the joy that playing an instrument can give.
