My students need protractors, drafting pencils, and metal precision compasses, soft touch compasses, and straight-edged compasses (for students who cannot handle compasses with points).

My Students
The students in my classroom have trouble getting quality mathematical tools.
My students want to learn.
However, in their lower socioeconomic neighborhood, the last thing any of them, or their parents, are thinking about are quality--and I do stress quality--materials for school. Some students can afford it, while others cannot. And when they are asked to buy their own materials, this fact glares at them in their face.
My Project
Students will be using these protractors, mechanical pencils, and quality compasses in their high school geometry class. They will be using these for constructions and transformations just to name a few. The main point would be for students to see how to use the radii of circles as a unit of measurement.
As of now, students are using compasses from the dollar store which do not stay in place as they turn the compass.
This causes massive frustration. Using the flat compasses also causes frustration due to the face that they become loose very quickly. Students would be delighted to finally have access to quality compasses, protractors, and mechanical pencils.
More than three‑quarters of students from low‑income households
