Art materials matter and when students receive a professional canvas to paint on, rather than economy paper, the project is elevated to a higher quality. I would like my students to have the opportunity to use canvas for their painting projects and have access to quality boards for collage projects.
My middle school students are eager, bright and talented sixth and seventh graders who attend public school in New York City.
They come from diverse backgrounds with varied exposure to The Arts. In my Studio Art program, students develop fundamental drawing, painting and sculpture skills that make interdisciplinary connections. Students discover their artist within and advance their confidence and appreciation for the visual arts.
My Project
The canvas and board will be critical in producing quality artworks to display at our annual art exhibitions. To work on canvas will improve the overall quality of student work. When we paint on paper, projects easily get tattered and torn with large class sizes.
I see over 285 students a week in Studio Art class and by donating canvas and boards you will give students supplies to enrich their art experience for special projects throughout the year.
Students will be exposed to professional grade art materials and they will be able to create artworks on durable materials that can be easily displayed for the public.
