My students are in their first year of middle school. They are eager and excited for all things science. Our Project Lead the Way curriculum provides students many opportunities to solve real-world problems that exist today and may exist in the future. This is an introduction to careers in science, technology and engineering. In order to create the best possible learning environment for my students, I begin with helping them to develop a growth mindset. This enables them to persevere as they learn from failure since all of their solutions are innovative and new.
"Many of life's failures are people who didn't realize how close they were to success when they gave up." - Thomas Edison
"Success is a pile of failure. You're just standing on top of it."
These two quotes are examples of a growth mindset. We have posted them around the classroom and written them in our Engineering Notebooks.
Thanks for supporting my students!
My Project
My classroom is a busy project-based learning environment. Students are working with their hands to learn all things STEM. This makes for a louder than usual classroom and it is difficult for some students to be heard.
The addition of a Qball throwable wireless microphone to our classroom will allow all students to hear and be heard in our STEM hands-on learning classroom.
Since each of my classes only has 55 minutes of class time per day, it is important that we are able to use each of these minutes in the most productive manner. The addition of a Qball wireless throwable microphone will allow us to do just this!
