Help me give my students the tools they need to instill a love of learning. Puzzles are a vital in a child's success of reading comprehension when paired with direct instruction garnered from the Learn Store Chart Stand.

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are the most amazing group of humans. They are eager and motivated to learn as much as they can get their hands on. The most demanding task I have encountered this year has been finding material is intentional and specific to their development.
Everyday they surprise me with their intelligence and ability to grasp the material
In addition to their intelligence, they surprise me with their unwavering support for one another. One phrase that is commonly heard in the classroom is, "Look at you! You are doing your best work!" The students serve as each others greatest cheerleaders.
My Project
When completing puzzles, there is a clear beginning, middle and end to the process. This is a beginning skill to reading comprehension as it follows the same steps. Students learn best by doing and puzzles are a perfect way for them to not only hone in on their reading skills, but practice their spatial awareness and fine motor skills.
Unlocking and developing this skill in early childhood has been proven to help students' success with reading.
In addition to the various puzzles (and cozy rug to complete floor puzzles on), the Learn Store Chart Stand allows me to quickly change out letters and words while maintaining the attention of my 4 and 5 year old students. Additionally, having the student-height easel gives opportunity for children to quickly reference what they are learning throughout the day.
