Help me give my students large floor puzzles and alphabet sound tubs. The floor puzzles encourage fine motor skills and allow students to work on problem solving. The Alphabet Sounds Teaching Tubs will help students with letter sounds.
FULLY FUNDED! Ms. Hohne's classroom raised $259

My Students
My students come from diverse cultural, and socio-economic backgrounds and in our classroom we celebrate our differences and work together to achieve our best.
In my class, we build a community where all students are challenged, engaged, and most of all loved!
We love to learn through play and utilize our natural curiosity to teach us about the world. Our school has a large population of English learners and families who receive free breakfast and free/reduced lunch, including students from local shelters. My students come to my classroom, all at various ability levels, excited and ready to learn.
My Project
My students will love using these large and colorful floor puzzles to practice their fine motor skills and problem-solving/decision-making skills. They will also practice working together to achieve a final result and will be so proud when they are finished. They will learn to take ownership over something they've created as a team or individually.
The alphabet tubs will encourage students to explore items and teach them important phonological skills while using tactile objects.
The tubs will be used to help students sort items by their beginning sounds and group items together based on the letter they begin with. Students can extend their learning by writing down names of the objects, and even sorting them in different ways (ending sound, middle sound, etc.). Having physical objects allows students of all learning styles to practice their phonological skills. Students can also use the items in a "mystery" bag where they pull the item out without looking and must decide where it goes after decoding the words.
