My Students

We are an integrated co-teaching classroom in the Bronx with 26 Kindergarten students, each with unique strengths and challenges.

The 26 sprouts in our classroom have begun to blossom!

You can see and hear these great minds blooming as they begin to realize those squiggles on the page are words and that they can read them!

In our classroom, we strive to create a caring and safe learning environment where all students feel confident to take risks and grow as learners. We meet the needs of our diverse population by emphasizing compassion and respect for all.

My Project

It is essential that students are given the opportunity to work on problem solving skills. Students will engage in critical thinking skills while working with a partner to solve these puzzles.

My students will benefit from using their verbal skills to discuss solving the puzzles with a partner.

The puzzles will also provide reinforcement of the phonics skills we learn each day.

Students are highly motivated by these fun activities and gain social skills while learning to work with a partner, compromise and take turns. These independent activities allow my co-teacher and I the opportunity to work with smaller groups of students on targeted learning needs.
