PUZZLEMANIA for Special Education Students

My project needs puzzles to increase language abilities and mathematic skills.

FULLY FUNDED! Mrs. Banoff's classroom raised $198

This project is fully funded

Hi, I am the special education teacher in a kindergarten inclusion class. My class consists of students who have a range of disabilities. These disabilities include speech/language impairments, learning disabilities, and autism. We are a Title I, early-childhood center. Approximately seventy-five percent of our students receive free lunch. Recently, a new student was transfered into my class and asked where the puzzles were. He had puzzles in his original kindergarten class and became interested in them. Sadly, we did not have any puzzles to offer him to play with. It made me start to think about having puzzles in our classroom. I would love to give my students the opportunity to play with puzzles. Puzzles can be a fun way for students to increase spatial awareness skills, develop fine motor skills, increase shape awareness, and build logical thinking skills. I am asking for a donation of storybook jigsaw puzzles and floor puzzles to be used in our classroom. My students would love to play with puzzles, and the knowledge they will gain from these experiences will be endless! Thank you.
