My Project
I have an amazing bunch of Kindergarteners and First Graders! Most of the students are autistic. They are a special group of kids that learn in many different ways. The children love tactile approach of learning. Touching and interacting keeps them engaged.
Floor puzzles are beneficial because they engage cognitive and motor skills simultaneously.
It is a time where the children focus and interact for extended periods of time. This is great because they struggle with staying on task for long.
There are also sound buttons and batteries so the students can start their day with pressing the button and hearing an affirmation. They also will be integrated as an interactive part of each lesson.
