This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Our school has a diverse group of students as some live in homes and some live in apartments. Our garden space is sufficient for all grades to enjoy and explore natural science, yet we do not have the resources to start developing our space. Many of our students are VERY interested in starting and maintaining a garden, but I need specific items to create garden projects at this time.
My goal for this specific project is for each grade level (K-5) to experience the joy of working in, tending, and eating from a school garden.
I have seen in past experiences that children appreciate being outdoors and being able to work for a goal !
As stated earlier in this project, our students come from a variety of cultures and have a lot to share with each other as well as with our school community!
