Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Although my students may not come from money, they more than make up for it in their drive for learning and succeeding in school. My students range in grades from kindergarten to sixth grade and come from very diverse backgrounds.
Although they are very different from one another, they all have one thing in common, they are from poor families.
All of my students want to succeed in school, and especially love creating art. Art is a way for my students to release their imagination and and take their minds off of their everyday worries.
My Project
Creating art is nothing new to my students, but creating art that has extra pizzazz is something they will absolutely love. Making clay projects is my students' favorite project to make in my art class. Having the budget to be able to buy ceramic glaze has always been a challenge for me. Adding a shiny colorful surface to their ceramic projects is the pizzazz my students would want to add. Mr. Sketch markers will add vibrant colors to our artwork. When over 900 students use the art supplies in my art room, the markers are the first art supply that has to be thrown away because the ink gets used up so quickly. I have requested many other art supplies such as crayons, glitter pens and much more.
