My Students
In middle school, students are learning to appropriately socialize, and they love to share their thoughts and ideas with others. Podcasting will help them to learn what to share, how to share it, and provide them with a real, dynamic 21st century learning experience!
Students in my classes are gifted, which means they make connections and think at different rates and depths than their same-aged peers.
Many are creative, high-achieving, and critical in their thinking, but others need a push and the majority of them, like most students, demand real-world experience. Particularly for gifted students, real-world application is absolutely vital to their growth and success.
My Project
In middle school, students are learning to appropriately socialize, and they love to share their thoughts and ideas with others. In the 21st century, sometimes this means interacting through social media and other websites, and occasionally that can be dangerous or negative. Podcasting will help them to learn what to share, how to share it, and provide them with a real, dynamic 21st century learning experience. Even better, they have access to ample examples of what successful podcasting looks and sounds like, and can take what they are learning and apply it to a new method of sharing. This is a product many of my students have never before had the chance to experience, and they are terribly excited about trying something new and popular. Students will gain access to the Zoom recorder, a high-quality piece of equipment that will allow them to learn more about podcasting technology, and microphones to help create a professional-sounding end product!
My students have a lot to say and a lot to share; all year, they have been passing ideas around in class, developing projects, reaching out to the community in various ways.
This will help broaden their horizons, their outreach, and most importantly, their worldview.
