Ms. Williams from Urbana IL is requesting instructional technology through DonorsChoose, the most trusted classroom funding site for teachers.
My students need a classroom projector so we can enhance our learning through the one-to-one technology in our school.

"The world comes to our school." I am a 3rd grade teacher at a wonderful and diverse school in Illinois, and I teach students from all over the world and who speak many different languages.
I love my school because the students who attend it represent over 20 different countries.
In addition to students who come from all over the world, I also work with students who live right across the street from the school. My school is 90% low-income. 32% of the students are English Language Learners, and I serve a predominately African-American population.
As a class, we strive to build a classroom community that helps give us a readiness to learn and feels safe, trusting, compassionate, and fun. We love to talk, dance, sing, and laugh together. We believe in kindness and in finding ways to show people we care. I love my students and the chances I get to learn from them each day. They help make me a better educator, and I value each day I have the chance to teach and learn alongside of them. More than anything else, I want my students to know and believe that they are worth fighting for!
In my classroom, I love to use technology to engage my students in their learning, and I also love to find ways that will get them excited about math, reading, writing, science, and social studies through using technology to enhance their learning. My school has one-to-one technology with Chromebooks, which my students love, and they use them on a daily basis. However, in order to help improve the learning of my students, a projector is needed in my classroom.
GoNoodle, literacy, Kahoot, oh my!
I will use a projector to help give my students brain breaks through the use of GoNoodle, which has fun song and dance videos to help get their wiggles out but also get their neurons firing to get them ready to learn. Literacy is another area of learning where I love to model, model, model! My students benefit so much from when I am able to model strong writing or can show them specifically how to use various reading strategies to help them understand what they are reading. We also love to listen to reading from other people online, and through being able to project my modeled writing, our shared writing pieces, and different activities for strengthening our reading, we are growing our brains and having fun while doing it. Kahoot is also a fun website and interactive learning experience that helps my students learn new content and review content, and it also helps build camaraderie within my classroom.
This is just a small fraction of what I plan to do through the use of a classroom projector!
