My Students

I teach 3rd grade to a group of students who work hard, are kind to to others and make me smile every day. They are easy to teach because they come to school eager to dive into whatever subject we are focused on. This year, I have a group of students who love every aspect of art. I have concentrated on math, science and engineering in the past but am excited to try and fit in art as the A in STEAM this year.

Research shows that the act of coloring, painting and drawing helps to develop the bridge that connects our two hemispheres of our brain.

When my students are involved in one of these activities and are asked what they are doing, they never answer with "coloring" or "painting". They say " I am helping my brain to grow and get stronger. I want to continue to emphasize this idea throughout the year but as we know, art supplies can be quite expensive.

I am looking forward to sharing their projects with our school and community and hope Justin Winery see the value of my project.

My Project

These materials will help my students explore the world of art during a day that is filled with academics. It is so important that they are exposed to different mediums and materials to help develop their creativity.

These materials will enable my students to become well rounded citizens and young people.

Help me put smiles on my students' faces when they look at a painting or picture with pride.

Using "real" artist's watercolor paper is an experience that every child deserves as they watch the colors blend and swirl into a masterpiece that their family will cherish for years to come.
