This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
George Santayana once said, "Those who do not remember the past are condemned to repeat it." I have the privilege of teaching United States history to enthusiastic middle school students. They become inquisitive when learning about the past and how they can make history impactful in today's world. They are eager to try new things and enjoy sharing their growing knowledge of history and the personal connections that they have made to it. My students are the leaders of tomorrow!
My Project
I am asking for a primary sources collection for my students to access in the classroom. This would be a great resource for my historians to use as they continue to enrich their academic endeavors. These resources will help my students to reach their potential.
Although my students have access to technology in the classroom, they need to also have access to tangible resources such as these primary sources.
The collection will serve as a means of supporting their development of reading and writing skills. Our school's vision includes providing rigor in the classroom to prepare our students to be lifelong learners.
