My Students
Each day that is spent with our students is a day filled with excitement and rigor. Our class contains a complex mix of multicultural backgrounds, varied abilities, and smiling faces. Our students enjoy using the many technological components in our classroom.
This year we have focused on STEM education and computer science in the classroom.
The students have participated in many different STEM challenges and began to write and develop computer code. We see the gleam in their eyes when they participate in these activities. This is what learning is all about.
Our school is located in a family oriented neighborhood in Brooklyn. We are a tight knit school and we consider the children in our class to be the future of our community.
My Project
Our class would love to create a stop motion animation center in our classroom. We feel that this center will be a great activity for our 21st Century classroom. We would like to present multimedia opportunities for our students to create and explore digital media.
Stop motion motivates students to create and be creative.
It teaches them about modern technology and animation while also teaching them teamwork and patience. It motivates students to think creatively and work collaboratively as a team towards a goal.
We would use these supplies to create a station where kids could visit and create and unwind while also being productive. We could use this as another option for project creation and for a brain break station.
