My Students

My students arrive daily with the added weight of having learning disabilities from one of 13 qualifying diagnosis in order to receive Specialized Education. I support them in academic and social learning in order for them to be successful students. These are kids that come to school for the warm inviting atmosphere we create for them to learn at their level and ability. Learning in our room comes from many areas; books, computers, and social interaction with each other. Each day is a new beginning.

My Project

The students in my classroom come from homes where it is not safe to play outside or the park in their area has little to no equipment to use. At our school site with limited equipment a lot of students bring their own equipment, however my students come from homes where this is not in their budget. My students would have the opportunity to play with our own classroom equipment for recess. I chose the equipment in bright colors to attract other students in order to build friendships. I send my students to recess with hopes of inclusion in all areas, playground included.
