My students need iPad Minis and cases to help them have the opportunity to experience technology and learn more about the world around us.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Si Se....Puede! This is a chant that my students and I do many times each day. Si Se Puede means it can be done and that is the attitude that my kids and I have each day. We work to become our best selves and to become people who will change the future. Technology and IPads will help our goal.
This year I have the pleasure of teaching 28 brilliant second graders.
My students come from very diverse backgrounds. We are a title 1 school with a focus on the fact that all our kids will be college ready. We are a dual immersion Spanish-English bilingual school. One of our favorite songs is called "Que Bonito es ser bilingue" and we know being bilingual is important so we have a strong sense of self and so we can help others. Many of my students will be the first in their family to go to college and even the first to go to/graduate high school. My students LOVE learning and are very committed to meeting all their goals. Some of their favorite subjects are Math, Writing and of course SCIENCE. Although they amaze me constantly, I am most in awe of how they love each other and support each other. They are constantly encouraging each other and my students even tutor each other at recess. They are kind, compassionate, determined and brilliant students that deserve greater opportunity.
My Project
The iPads will be used in so many ways in our classroom. My students will be using the iPads to learn necessary 21st century skills like typing, emailing and creating documents. The iPads will be used daily during our two center times (1 hour in English and one hour in Spanish). Students will be able to record themselves and listen to their recordings to improve fluency. I teach a cluster class which means a large majority of my students are not at grade level and the iPads would allow my students to do apps during center time that meet their diverse needs and will help them bridge academic gaps so that my students will not only be at grade level, but will surpass their goals. The iPads will be used for the school math intervention program daily. I also created a curriculum about global citizenship and the iPads will give my students access to new cultures and people that they would not have the opportunity to learn about otherwise. Students will also be using the iPads to film videos.
Your donations to this project will provide the exposure to technology that my students most likely will not receive outside of school.
One of my goals for my students is that they will be biliterate in both Spanish and English, but your donations will allow them to also be literate in technology which is a necessary skill in today's economy. Your donation to this project will bring technology into the classroom and will help shape the future leaders of our world.
