My Students
The first year of high school is a big adjustment in ones life. The students of today experience stress and pressure like no group of students before them. Social media diverts their attention and draws them away from reading books.
Help me put a relevant and interesting book in my students' hands.
My Project
Have you ever seen a teenager without a phone in their hands or back pockets? No? Neither have I. I want to give students an opportunity to read a book in print ( not digitally ) that is interesting and something they can relate to. This project will be an opportunity for students to “unplug” and immerse themselves in the language of words and the beautiful story they tell. I want to provide a copy of the book as a class set so we can read and engage in conversation about the story.
