My Students
My students are curious, creative, and capable of amazing things! Our school is a Reggio Emilia inspired preschool on the South Side of Chicago. Our blended classroom forms a diverse community of learners who were typically developing and special needs students to explore and create together. Within our preschool program, the students’ interests drive the curriculum and our students thrive when they engage with their peers in hands-on learning. The classroom environment is designed to encourage high-level questioning with dynamic and challenging activities and PLENTY of exploration.
My Project
These materials will help support our students as they face an unfamiliar, but still, an engaging way of learning when we return to in-person instruction. Our students will encounter a new reality of social distancing and safety precautions in the classroom and as such, we will need materials that can easily be cleaned between each use. Every student will have their own work stations and bins from which to access learning materials and engage in hands-on learning experiences.
We are hoping to provide our students with continued access to literacy materials that they would typically share.
Although much will be different for my students when we return, the vital need and immense benefit of literacy instruction remain indispensable.
