This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I have the privilege of working with some of the most hardworking students I have ever met. They might come from low-income, high-poverty areas, but their thirst for knowledge is inspiring. Our school is Title I, where most students receive free or reduced-price lunches. Even though every student understands where they come from, they are like every other child in the world when they come to my class. They love music, sports, TV, movies, and video games. They are intelligent, funny, creative, happy, and motivated young people. As a health and physical education teacher, I am constantly looking for innovative ways to have my students be active throughout the day.

These assisted push-up equipment will give me another option in my lessons.

My main goal is to get students to do push-ups the correct way. If students can learn the proper form and then practice, hopefully we can get our students to be life long exercisers.

The younger we can reach students and encourage them to be active, the healthier they will be later in life. Also, with obesity rates being as high as they are in our country, it is essential to get our students up and to move as often as possible. Introducing fun and new ways to work out helps motivate students.
