Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My class consists of preschool children and children eligible for special education in a general education setting. The classroom environment promotes a positive and inviting atmosphere not only in the classroom, but on the outside of the classroom as well which includes the hallways of the school. Sometimes, the classroom budget does not allow me the resources to provide additional learning activities or the means to provide a fun and decorative classroom. My students look forward to art projects and colorful walls that serve to help their learning experiences and captivate their eyes. A die cut machine can cut out letters, numbers, and designs to help enhance the learning environment. In all of the planning, it takes time. We have to trace or print out letters and then cut them out. Sometimes the letters don't turn out as neat as they could be and it takes more time to cut out additional letters than it would if we had a machine. This is why we need a die cut machine! Many of these die cuts will be used to help my students feel included for a representation of all learning styles skills, and abilities in the classroom. We will use these dies (upper and lowercase, numbers, shapes, etc.) to teach my students letter, number, and shape recognition through a variety of activities. The die cut machine will be used in a fun way to decorate the classroom with students' work as well as expose them to the necessary skills to prepare them for greater academic success. Ultimately, the goal is to help decorate the classroom and create a positive learning environment for everyone to enjoy. Your donation towards this die-cut machine and its accessories will be greatly appreciated by our students and staff. Thank you so very much!
