My Students

My classroom consists of twenty enthusiastic and inquisitive young learners with active imaginations and kind hearts. Some of the children are English language learners while encountering their first classroom setting. I partner with my assistant teacher to create a safe, supportive environment for my students, focusing on literacy and language development.

Together, we set the foundation for learning through small group literacy, art, mathematics, and science activities, while balancing the school day with social-emotional problem-solving and self-help practices.

Our activities also promote kinetic movement for active learners as well as whole child, free-choice centers.

My Project

We are adding and rotating materials to our centers for free choice and small group play. Multicultural crayons and safety mirrors will allow the children to explore and discover more about themselves and each other. Hopscotch, tower builders, the bucket balance and activity balls will promote active and cooperative learning. The activity mazes and sensory shells will support calming and self regulation as the children also practice sorting and other important skills.

Overall, these young preschool center materials will provide more opportunities for the children to engage and interact together through purposeful play.
