This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Imagine an urban school near abandoned train tracks and an unpleasant refuse plant across the street. Our school is located in a high-poverty neighborhood where my students are faced with several challenges both in and out of our school. Despite the many problems they face, I am looking to keep my students motivated by providing them a safe and inviting environment to learn.

My students deserve equitable, individualized, and meaningful learning experiences that lead to readiness for college, careers, and civic life.

My Project

I am requesting masks and supplies for the second semester to help ensure we are doing our part in prevent the spread of germs and COVID-19. The air purifier will filter the polluted air we breathe, and the air humidifier will provide healthy levels of humidity. The lavender and orange essential oil will be added to the air purifier as well to provide students with aromatherapy, leading to a stress free environment.

By using these tools together, the overall physical and mental wellness of my students will greatly improve as we collectively continue to heal from the effects of this dual pandemic.
