My Students
They are the most courteous group of students I have ever taught. They look out for one another and remind each other to obey class and school rules.
They are amazing readers!
They are becoming such great writers! We've nearly mastered writing complete sentences and are now working on writing short paragraphs. To keep literature fun and exciting, I want to do puppet shows this year. Every student must write their script with two characters and present it to the class as a puppet show.
My Project
After learning how to write a paragraph, we begin to write stories. Student come up with their plot, problem and solution. They practice with puppets and present in front of the class. We learn audience etiquette and tell students three things that we liked about the show.
The joy of presenting with puppets overpowers the fear of being in front of others.
The puppets help them grow their confidence in their stories. They are more willing to share stories in the future after this experience. I would love a variety of puppets to help with this project.
